David Phillips, Senior Corporate Reporting Partner congratulates the winners

Building Public Trust is PwC’s initiative to celebrate those organisations and individuals who have built trust and who champion transparency.

David Phillips, Senior Corporate Reporting Partner in the Assurance practice of PwC, commented on this year’s awards and those who were recognised.

Awards were presented in the following categories:

• FTSE 100 for "Excellence in reporting"
• FTSE 250 for "Excellence in reporting"
• Public Sector for "Excellence in reporting"
• Lifetime Achievement Recognition for "Building trust and confidence in the corporate and public sectors"

In the reporting arena the awards focused on:

• better – not more – information
• linkage between the information provided and the stated strategy
• quantified data that supports the qualitative statements made
• metrics that, where relevant, illustrate performance against peers
• where appropriate, a statement of future ambition
