Accessibility statement

PricewaterhouseCoopers is committed to making its online presence as accessible as possible to all audiences as part of its corporate social responsibilities and to meet the requirements of territory legislation.

As a result, PwC is adopting guidelines set out in World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). The key constituencies for the guidelines are people who suffer from:

A number of browsers are available to navigate websites on behalf of the disabled, such as screen readers and braille writers, but can only function if websites are built accordingly. However, we also support the W3C's commitment to lead the web to its full potential for all users.

It is our intention that the PwC online activities follow the standards set by the W3C guidelines where possible. To this end we have introduced the following accessible features:

Colour
Colour combinations have been tested for colour blindness as well as to provide the highest possible contrast , within the bounds of PwC's brand colour palette.

Images
Content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics and those that do not portray information include null ALT attributes.

Links
Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article).

Style sheets
This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers. If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.

You can change font and colour settings or select your own style sheet by selecting Tools > Internet Options > Accessibility

You can change your font and colour settings by selecting Edit > Preferences > Appearance

Scripting
While JavaScript is used within the www.pwc.co.uk/leeds environment for a number of function elements, where possible alternatives have been provided, however, all pages are still accessible if JavaScript support is not available.

Standards compliance
All markup and style attributes of the www.pwc.co.uk/leeds web site adhere to the W3C's XHTML 1.0 and CSS level 1 specifications. In providing all web pages in a well-formed and syntactically correct manner we are able to support a wider range of current and backwardly compatible browsing devices.
